The secret sauce is in the advanced button in the App. What does it do? It acts like a wrangler for connecting and disconnecting your Bluetooth accessories. This is an inexpensive app that will work with all of your Bluetooth devices. Go to the Mac App Store and search for Toothfairy. This method is even simpler but will cost you a few dollars. This should reset your Bluetooth connection and improve your audio quality. Now go back to System preferences and click output, and select your Bluetooth headphones again. It could be Apple Music, Spotify, or even the dictation setting on your Mac. Then quit any apps or processes that use your Bluetooth headphones or the microphone.
